The MID4Automotive consortium is pleased to announce that one of the project’s central objectives has been successfully achieved. The interconnection demonstrator developed within the project is now fully operational, marking a significant step forward in the exploration of next‑generation Molded Interconnect Device (MID) technologies for automotive applications.
The demonstrator showcases the complete signal chain—from reference signal generation to active antenna operation, RF amplification, and precise timing distribution via a fibre‑optic system. This achievement is the result of close collaboration between German and Dutch research institutes and industrial partners working across the project’s radar and interconnect domains.
Although the work remains at an early technology readiness level, the demonstrator provides valuable insights into MID‑based integration approaches and has already sparked several promising ideas for future developments. The consortium views this milestone as an important validation of its interdisciplinary approach and a strong foundation for continued innovation in high‑frequency automotive sensing and interconnect technologies.
