The MID4Automotive consortium convened in Paderborn on October 29–30, 2025 for a two‑day project meeting hosted at the Heinz Nixdorf Institute. Partners from across the consortium gathered to review progress, coordinate upcoming activities, and prepare the final phase of the project as it moves toward completion in 2026.
The meeting opened with a brief welcome followed by an overview of project management topics. The session covered administrative updates, the status of ongoing amendments, and the timeline for upcoming reporting obligations. Particular attention was given to the key deliverables scheduled for late 2025 and early 2026, including the final prototype design report, the verification report, and the overall technology assessment for automotive applications. The consortium also began planning the structure and timing of the upcoming review meeting, which will mark a major milestone in the project’s final year.
A central part of the first day focused on the progress within the work package dedicated to 3D‑MID prototype designs for automotive use. The discussion spanned developments in both radar and communication components, summarizing achievements from March to October 2025. Partners outlined the remaining design and integration tasks and aligned on the actions required to finalize the prototypes.
The second day began with a detailed review of prototype verification and technology assessment activities. The consortium examined the current status of testing, discussed measurement strategies, and coordinated the steps needed to complete the final evaluation. Ensuring consistency between design, testing, and assessment was highlighted as a key priority for the months ahead.
Later in the morning, the focus shifted to dissemination and communication activities. The group reviewed ongoing outreach efforts and explored opportunities for additional publications, event participation, website updates, and social media visibility. An action plan was drafted to strengthen the project’s external presence during its concluding phase.
The meeting closed with a summary of the agreed action points and an update of the project’s risk register. The consortium also outlined the next steps in preparing for the review meeting, including potential timing and hosting arrangements. With clear responsibilities and a shared roadmap, the partners left Paderborn well aligned for the final stretch of the MID4Automotive project.
